
They will fight and do whatever it takes to change their lives sometimes pulling together, sometimes pulling at odds to each other. Then, through a mistaken act of kindness, they are forced together. They are both “runners” Adam running from the hurts of his past and present, Chance running from the men who owned him and will put him back in the pit if they catch him again.

Violence and uncertainty surround them both in so many aspects of their lives. While Adam was building and destroying his career and being run aground by his marriage, Chance was raised in a puppy mill and specifically bred to the hard world of dog fighting. But this is their true story: the story of a man who has lost everything and a dog from whom everything’s been taken. It is a grudging story, one that probably wouldn’t have gotten written if the characters had had their way.
