Every few chapters, it switches to a transcript of true crime radio show The Girls, about missing/runaway young women. Sadie follows the story of a 19 year old girl from Cold Creek, Colorado, who goes on the hunt for who she believes murdered her little sister, Mattie. I don’t think I put it down until the end. About 20 pages in, I was totally captivated. I couldn’t not buy it, especially because I thought it had an interesting concept. I was at a Walmart when I saw a book with my name printed on the front. If those topics are triggering for you, you might want to pass this one up. TW before I continue, this novel includes themes and descriptions of death, parental abuse, drugs, and violence. This is one of the best and most underrated books I’ve ever read.
